First Youth

National Team

Thirteen and fourteen year old players who attend a USA Football Player Academy will be evaluated by USA Football Regional Scouts, the Player Academy Director, and the National Team Director for a chance to be a part of our first U15 National Team. Watch the videos below to see what our National Team program is all about. Register for the Player Academy for a chance to be a part of Team USA.

Team USA athletes represent the best parts of the game, on and off the field. Talented, high-character players will be selected to our first ever U15 National Team and will show passion for their teammates and enthusiasm for the game. Check out U19 RB David Wilson (now at Virginia Tech), from last year’s gold medal winning U19 National Team, fire up the team before the gold medal game against Canada.

Team USA athletes will play the game with intensity and focus. They will play hard, from whistle to whistle, and will show the world that football is America’s sport. Being a part of our first U15 National Team will be a truly historic and memorable experience. Watch the video to the right to see what some NFL players think about playing for Team USA. This is from a recruiting video for the 2009 U19 National Team.

Team USA athletes will represent more than just their families, teams, and communities. Team USA athletes will represent our country, and will do so in a way that makes our country proud. Playing football on a world stage is an honor and a privilege, and representing the U.S. in international competition is one of the highest honors athletes can achieve. The video to the left recaps the 2009 Junior World Championship (U19) and shows what it means to play football on a world stage.

Player Academy: U15 National Team, Evaluation, and Selection Process

Thirteen and fourteen year old players who attend a USA Football Player Academy will be evaluated by USA Football Regional Scouts, the Player Academy Director, and the National Team Director. Each position will have its own unique set of evaluation points that will be reviewed by the selection committee while the registrant is performing drills at the Player Academy. The team roster will be finalized in December 2010.

Players selected to the U15 National Team will be announced in January 2011, and will come together in summer 2011 with three other countries for a week of competition, development, and cultural exchange.

For players who cannot attend a Player Academy, a nomination process will open up prior to the start of the 2010 youth football season.
