Many leagues have personnel in charge of field setup operations; their sole purpose is making sure all fields are ready for game day.
A field coordinator’s responsibilities include:
- Layout and line field prior to the first game of the season, with continual upkeep throughout season.
- Set up clean-up crew to police fields immediately following games.
- Maintain and distribute benches and garbage cans prior to each week’s games.
- Maintain and distribute field markers, line and down markers prior to games.
- Coordinate chain crew assignments for each game with the teams involved and deliver them to the officials.
- Insure that footballs and air pumps are available.
- Submit proposed equipment and repair budget to the treasure from inclusion in program budget.
- Coordinate portable toilets and dumpsters for season.
- Make sure each head coach has a first aid kit and emergency action plan
- Coordinate with concessions coordinator for any needs that may surface.
- Give end of season report on suggested improvements for program.
