Whether your teams play on a cleared field or in an elaborate stadium, your field should be safe and secure for all players, parents, and volunteers.

How many aspects of your field do you check in a given week?

You make sure that the grass is green and that the sidelines are bright. You check to see if the fence is still standing after the rainstorm a couple days earlier. You ensure that the trash was taken out after the last game each week.

Is that enough? Have you checked the bleachers for splinters? Are there any new gopher holes that you did not see last week?

With a detailed and deliberate list, you can ensure that your field is the safest place it can be on game day.

Below is a link to download a .PDF checklist (three pages) from the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) to help keep your field in top condition.
