Recognize offensive formations as the team goes from the huddle to the line of scrimmage. When “trips” are set to one side, help the short wing on that side with his tackle. The wing is overloaded with receivers, defenders, seven-on-the-line, potential snap infractions, etc. Take that “trip side” tackle right off the line of scrimmage for potential holding, hands to the face, etc. The short wing cannot effectively watch the tackle engage and then get potential offensive/defensive pass interference fouls, forward/backward or beyond/behind on passes.
