Nearly 1,500 youth coaches from nine states have already advanced their training by attending a USA Football Coaching School this year and that number is about to become even larger in a few short days.
This weekend alone (May 3-4), USA Football hosts four schools: Denver, Colo.; Foxboro, Mass.; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Omaha, Neb.
The Foxboro school will be held at Gillette Stadium, home of the AFC East Champion New England Patriots, which has been sold-out with 425 attendees since early April.
May 2008 is USA Football's busiest month for coaching schools in its six-year history, with 13 schools offered, featuring top local high school coaches as clinicians and exciting keynote speakers from high school, college and NFL circles.
Nine coaching schools in May will be conducted in partnership with NFL teams who recognize their importance for the sport's development in their cities.
"These schools are vital to start coaches off on the right track - especially here in Denver since it's the only formalized way of educating youth coaches," said Cindy Galloway, Denver Broncos vice president of community development.
"It's a great benefit to be partnered with USA Football," Galloway adds. "The curriculum offered at their clinics is extremely helpful along with the overall credibility they bring to the table."
