STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) will hold Executive Committee meetings and a Technical Conference in the Swedish capital of Stockholm from June 6-8, 2008.

Among the topics on the Executive Committee's agenda will be the 2009 IFAF Junior World Championship, to be played in Canton, Ohio, next summer. Under discussion will be the tournament dates, event format and the qualifying system for teams hoping to represent Europe, Pan-America, Asia and Oceania.

The United States will be represented at this meeting by USA Football Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck.

Seven nations from four continents will join host the United States for the first ever IFAF Junior World Championship to be played at Fawcett Stadium at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

IFAF President Tommy Wiking said: "There is a great deal of interest in the outcome of our meeting because the picture of who will have the honor of taking part in the first ever junior world championship of American football will become much clearer.

"We expect to determine qualifying pairings and the number of teams that will qualify from each continental region within IFAF."

The committee will also review new member applications from countries bidding to join the 48 federations currently governed by IFAF. Ongoing topics of discussion will include the hosting of the 2011 IFAF Senior World Championship and the upcoming IFAF Congress to be held in Sevilla, Spain, on July 18.

The StayAt Bromma Stockholm Hotel venue for the meetings will also host a total of 32 delegates from around the world, who will discuss coach and player education and development at the IFAF Technical Conference.
