USA Football, the sport's national governing body on youth and amateur levels, has named STEVE DeLUCA of Paisley, Fla., to its Administrators Advisory Committee. DeLuca, chairman of the coaching curriculum committee for the DeLand Youth Football League - Pop Warner, is one of nine administrator committee members contributing toward USA Football's educational resources, employed by USA Football members in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
USA Football selected DeLuca for his long-standing and dedicated involvement to Florida youth football. The DeLand league encompasses more than 200 youngsters with 30 coaches among its eight teams.
USA Football's Administrators Advisory Committee evaluates and strengthens USA Football resources made available to youth football league administrators. Such resources include online education courses, financial support for league volunteer background checks, coaching insurance and football equipment grants.
"You can't have uneven youth experiences and hope the game continues to grow," DeLuca said. "The best way to protect the game is to educate the coaches and administrators in order to provide the kids a fair, successful experience."
"Steve's work on our Administrators Advisory Committee will impact leagues that teach this game and its values to thousands of youngsters nationwide," said USA Football Executive Director SCOTT HALLENBECK. "The success that youth football has experienced in DeLand for more than two decades is attributable to Steve and dedicated volunteers like him. We're proud to have him on our team."
