It seems as if Bucky Brooks, USA Football's West Regional Manager, has spent his whole life on the football field. His football career began when he was playing for the Green Road Packers as a 7-year-old in Raleigh, N.C., and he later went on to suit up for the University of North Carolina and several NFL teams.
A wide receiver for the Tar Heels, Brooks honed his skills as a playmaker under legendary head coach Mack Brown and helped UNC advance to the Peach and Gator Bowls in his junior and senior years, respectively.
After playing for five different NFL teams - Buffalo, Green Bay, Jacksonville, Kansas City and Oakland - and doing work as a scout, Brooks decided to take the football knowledge he had gained on the field to help others off it. As a regional manager, he helps to organize and conduct coaching schools for youth football coaches and state forums for league administrators. Registration is now open for USA Football Coaching Schools. To find one in your area, click here.
Hear what Brooks had to say about his playing days and what coaches can do to help sharpen the skills of their own wide receivers.
