There are less than three weeks left for officials to enjoy USA Football officiating events. With three officiating schools and four officiating seminars already completed, that leaves only six more seminars on the schedule for 2009.

Four seminars will be held on Saturday, June 6 spanning the country from Washington to California to Georgia to New York. The final two remaining seminars to be held throughout the month of June will take place in California, Maryland and Massachusetts. Be sure to register today to ensure your spot at one of these last remaining events.

The seminars are one-day classroom sessions, while the officiating schools take place over the course of two days. Seminar days allow for the group as a whole to discuss relevant officiating items and changes in today's game, breakout sessions by position and topic and presentations by guest speakers, which include NFL and Division I officials.

One of the day's main events allows seminar attendees to watch and discuss video of notable plays from the 2008 season, mostly from local high school games. During these classroom sessions, the unique plays will be used to assess and discuss mechanics, philosophy and rules applications for all levels of officiating.

The seminars follow a curriculum established by USA Football Director of Officiating and NFL umpire Tony Michalek and USA Football Officiating Consultant and Big Ten referee Bill LeMonnier. Along with executing the officiating events, the two veteran officials work hand-in-hand for the independent non-profit to develop and improve the officiating programs and membership resources provided to USA Football members.
