IFAF Starts Coach of the Year Award

IFAF, with the support of NFL International, has founded the IFAF Youth Coach of the Year Award.

 

It will be awarded to up to five youth coaches from member federations. Besides the honor, each coach will attend the NFL Youth Football Summit July 24-27, 2007 in Canton, Ohio; more than 100 coaches will participate in three days of clinics, educational seminars and roundtable discussions led by football experts and NFL greats. All travel and hotel expenses will be paid by the NFL.

 

Coaches will not be selected for the Award based on winning percentages, but on their commitment to helping create better citizens and football players.

 

Each federation is now requested to send in their nominations to IFAF. The nominations shall be followed by an essay in which a brief review of the coach achievements, assignments and why the coach should received the award. Another important area is how the coach promotes teamwork and sportsmanship. The essay should be maximum one page in length.

 

Nominations must be done no later then May 15th and they should be sent to IFAF office at ifaf@fffa.org. Please be sure to include the coach’s full contact details.

 

The winners will be selected by a jury consisting of Scott Hallenbeck, Chairman of the IFAF technical committee and executive director of USA Football, Tommy Wiking IFAF President,  Vincent Miraval former head coach for the two times European Junior Champions France and Kathryn Kelly from NFL International.

 

Currently, 45 associations in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania are organized in the IFAF, representing 23 million athletes on the whole world.

IFAF is cooperating closely with major US American Football organizations including the National Football League (NFL) and the National College Athletic Association (NCAA).
