I started playing football in my first year of high school, my Dad had some simple rules in our home when I was in high school - play sports or work.

I opted to play sports, 4 years of wrestling, track and football. Since my family was from a low-income household my parents were always working to pay bills and feed my brother and I, my parents seldom came to see my football games and my other sporting events.

As my confidence swelled and my athletic skills progressed, I was in the local newspaper continuously for all 3 sports, but football was my main focus and first love. A

s a senior captain and all conference all-star our our football team, we won the Div.5 Eastern Massachusetts football championship and I won the best offensive lineman award that year as well. Our football team was the first undefeated State champions in school history.

The coaching staff, my teammates and football community were my second family and they taught me how to ready myself for the real world.

My parents were so proud of me for tackling life's lessons and winning a state championship, since it was their first game that year, they beamed.

I now have been officiating football for last six years in Massachusetts because of the love for the game. I wanted to give back to the football community that was there for me and to set an example to my two sons that will continue to be a part of the football community.

Thank you again USA Football for your support.
