Frank Lenti

Since becoming the head football coach at Mount Carmel High School in Chicago in 1984, Team USA offensive line coach Frank Lenti has compiled an overall record of 284-47 (.858), a playoff mark of 83-14 (.856) and led the Caravan to nine state championships in 13 appearances.

During his 25-year career at Mount Carmel, Lenti has helped the program qualify for the Illinois state tournament in 23 straight seasons while leading the Caravan to three Prep Bowls and 16 Catholic League titles. Under his direction, Lenti has helped numerous student-athletes continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level at Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Michigan, Princeton and Yale.

A 1969 Mount Carmel graduate, Lenti was a captain of the Caravan's baseball team during his senior year and won All-League honors. After leaving Mount Carmel, Lenti went on to graduate from Loyola University and receive a Master’s degree in education from Chicago State University.

Lenti, a member of the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, was a member of the McGregor Clinic Advisory Board and became the only high school coach in the country to serve on the Gatorade Sports Scholastic Coach Magazine board. For his coaching prowess, Lenti received the Tony Lawless Award (Coach of the Year in the Chicago Catholic League) on numerous occasions and has been honored by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the Notre Dame Club of Chicago, the Chicago Bears, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times and the Southtown Star.

Lenti served as a graduate assistant under Lou Holtz at the University of Arkansas and made coaching stops at St. Francis De Sales High School in Chicago and Thornton (Ill.) High School before returning to Mount Carmel in 1982.

Lenti and his wife, Kim, reside in South Holland, Ill., and have two children: Frank and Lauren.
