Just a season ago, Jeremy Gold was tabbed as the head football coach at Ann Arbor (Mich.) Pioneer High School. Since then, Gold has joined his second team in just two seasons, as he was brought on board to serve as the U.S. Junior National Team's defensive line coach.
Born April 15, 1977 in Ypsilanti, Mich., Gold, who spent two seasons as the defensive line coach at the University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls) before being hired by Ann Arbor Pioneer in 2007, has accumulated a 12-7 record as a head coach. At Northern Iowa, Gold helped lead the Panthers to the 2005 Division I-AA National Championship game.
From 2003-04, Gold was the defensive line coach at Grand Valley State University (Allendale, Mich.), helping the Lakers acquire a Division II National Title in his initial season as an assistant.
Gold got his start in the coaching scene in 2002 as the defensive line coach at Wayne State University (Detroit), after serving as a graduate assistant at Eastern Michigan University.
After graduating from Central Michigan University in the spring of 1999, Gold worked as a student assistant at his alma mater, where he played linebacker for four years, and as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Michigan.
Gold is a graduate of Belleville (Mich.) High School, where he competed in football and basketball.
Gold's younger brother, Ian, is a former eight-year NFL linebacker who was drafted in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos.
Gold, 31, is engaged and has a daughter. They reside in Belleville.
